This Beautiful World

This is the poem that I wrote to bag the prize at The BSS School Interface 2016 (English creative writing):

You and I in this beautiful world,

a world we take for granted;

Why don’t we make sure for every tree that is cut,

A hundred trees are planted?
You and I this beautiful world,

The world we all pollute;

Right from when we choose canned food over fresh to when we use a private car as our means of everyday commute.
You and I in this beautiful world,

That may not remain so any more;

Because mother earth is choking up,

Her body is now sore.
You and I in this beautiful world,

Only we can save it now;

So let’s join hands and let’s all rise,

To take this worthy vow.
