The Re-imagined Pottermore!

This is really a thing that I have been thinking of doing since the day Pottermore by J.K. Rowling announced its change September 22nd, tweeting “We are delighted to launch the newly imagined , with an introductory message from J.K. Rowling“,so after getting over with all my work here I am, reviewing ‘THE RE-IMAGINED POTTERMORE”!

It has been a long time since the wizard with a scar on his forehead the letters from The Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and since then he has never looked back. The immensely popular “Harry Potter” series has won hearts all over the world, and guess what? The magic continues with a whole new Pottermore!

After Pottermore decided to end the contract with Sony and thought it was powerful enough to create an independent online presence, we were expecting something extravagant and magnificent! The expectations of many were fulfilled but some thought the old site was better, not only because the old website was more interactive but also because some people just don’t like reading paragraphs after paragraphs. The functionalities like ‘Potion’s Class’, ‘Diagon Alley’, ‘Duel Club’, ‘Great Hall’ and most importantly “The Sorting Hat” was removed in the recent update, removing the videogame-ish nature of the website, though The Pottermore Correspondent wrote in an article on Pottermore that the Sorting Hat will be back and you will also be able to find your very own Patronous sooner than you think!!

There are many positive point of the new website is that The Pottermore Correspondent brings you news about the play, “Harry Potter and The Cursed Child”, that is to be staged in London next year and about the latest Harry Potter companion film, “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”. You can also find some fresh material about the Harry Potter books and films by J.K. Rowling, Warner Bros., the directors and many others. Content that caught my eyes among thousands of wonderful others are: Harry Potter’s Family, Minor Harry Potter characters worth remembering, Wand-o-graphy, How the Wands were made, Designing the masks of Deatheaters, Teaching Dumbledore’s army, Neville Longbottom-a true Gryffindor etc.

As a bonus feature to this huge ocean of new content about the characters, casts, film-making and The Wider Wizarding World, the new Pottermore logo is in J.K. Rowling’s own handwriting, what more could you possibly want?!
